| 3.6 What a soft dismissal. Vermeulen, who was looking so good, is gone. It was full and slipping to the legs, it could have been on driven anywhere but Vermeulen flicked it straight to short midwicket. 17/2

| V Sibanda | c †Mushfiqur Rahim b Mahbubul Alam | 0 | 2 | 0 | 0 | 0.00 |
| 1.4 Wow! what a delivery. Don't blame Sibanda for edging it. It curved away late from a good length and clipped the outer edge as Sibanda pushed at it; he had to play at it. It did just enough to get the edge. There is no use getting dramatic big movement and missing the bat. Perfect delivery. 6/1

| H Masakadza | b Syed Rasel | 102 | 112 | 4 | 2 | 91.07 |
| 38.6 Rasel cleans him up with a slower one. His special- the off cutter. Masakadza shaped for the big slog across the line but was beaten by the lack of pace. Fine innings comes to an end. A very good partnership with Taylor. 202/4

| CK Coventry | run out (Mehrab Hossain jnr/†Mushfiqur Rahim) | 22 | 20 | 3 | 1 | 110.00 |
| 11.2 from Enamul Haque jnr, What a mess. What terrible misunderstanding between the two. It was flicked past square leg and the fielder (Mehrab) ran in from deep square leg. Clearly they had to stop at a single as they never seemed sure of the second. But they turned for the second run, hesitated mid-way, tried to carry on forward but too late folks. The throw was accurate and Rahim whips off the bails in glee. Gone! 60/3
| BRM Taylor† | run out (Raqibul Hasan/†Mushfiqur Rahim) | 94 | 103 | 2 | 1 | 91.26 |
| 47.2 from Shakib Al Hasan, Taylor is run out, going for the second run. It was pushed towards long-off and Chigumbura pushed for the second run. Taylor rushed across and even tried to dive into the crease but the throw was accurate and fast and Rahim did the rest. A very fine knock from Taylor comes to an end. 292/5

| 49.2 And he is gone now. He tries to slog sweep from outside off stump but gets a leading edge and presents a dolly to short third-man fielder. Handy little innings, though. 319/6

| 0.1 Mupariwa has struck gold first ball. It was a lovely curving delivery around the off stump, Tamim stabbed it, without moving his feet, straight to first slip. Mupariwa celebrates as if he is rocking a baby. Memories of Bebeto, Romario from the World Cup football. Here we go. What a start. 0/1

| Naeem Islam | b Chigumbura | 4 | 3 | 1 | 0 | 133.33 |
| 1.3 Two down now! What a start for Zimbabwe. Naeem, the pinch hitter, backed outside leg stump and went for the good-old slog - he pulled off similar shots in the first ODI - but missed it completely. The stump has gone for a walk. 8/2
